We went to a Beach BBQ yesterday with our club, Gold Coast LRO. Driving up to the toilet and a disco waved at us and naturally we waved back. I said to hh isn't he going to get a surprise, sure enough when we got back he was parked amongst 30 odd Land Rovers that were there
The wave is alive and well in Tassie. Three weeks touring the west coast and midlands achieved a 100% success rate, including multiple waves, honks and chats from a Swiss couple travelling the world in their red 110 as we crossed paths multiple times, plus an overly enthusiastic wave from a passenger who appeared to be animatedly reprimanding the non-waving driver at the same time!
I also had two out of two successes on the way back into the office today.
The wave is alive around SE Qld. But the honk is banned.
I wonder when they will ban the wave in qld as well I think they all drive jap cars in government here. next time I see the local member I will tell him we need and exemption when the other driver doesn't respond to your wave.I think a wave come under an emergency.
A very enthusiastic wave from the driver and passenger in an ex-army Perentie hard top that passed me north bound on the Pacific Highway near Raymond Terrace on Wednesday as I was heading for Gloucester. That Perentie looked in great shape, a real credit to its owner.
Had good waves from a red90 just out of Melb city, and then another good wave from a green 110 heading out towards Dandy. All on the way home from the Zoo :-)
Had a friend from Albury following us, I waved and she swapped lanes thinking that's what I was telling her to do. I had to explain the "Wave" situation
Happily responded to an enthusiastic wave (arm out the window!) from driver of a dark blue Defender yesterday. We passed on the Western edge of Mount Gambier.
Don't get many opportunities to wave to other Defender owners in The Mount I'm afraid
Got a big wave from a guy in a grey Defender on Kingston Road the other day. Took me by surprise so I did wave back, but the window was up.
It certainly seems true that Defender drivers wave, but not Disco drivers.
Unfortunately most new Disco drivers and all Range Rover drivers newer than P38 doesn't even seem to be aware that their cars are Land Rovers, never mind the wave!
Actually had an argument with a lady at work that her Evoque while being a Range Rover, is also a Land Rover and thus related to my Defender!
I waved at a brand new Tdci 90 yesterday on the narrows bridge in Perth and I actually got a "drop dead" stare in stead of a wave...
