Pete, I'll have to look at getting one in the near future. Another thing I would recommend is an EGT gauge, there is a LR guy from the NT that makes and sells them for LR's, here is the link ThermoGuard Instruments. My Dad has got one in his Def and they really are a great product. Its essential if you are planning on tweaking the fuel pump up a bit, and the digital screen in your dash is great to look at to!!

Find a good Land Rover mechanic and keep her maintenance up, if you don't know when she last had her timing belt done then make sure you get that done immediately and keep up regular changes of the timing belt every 80'000km's.
Also as mentioned get a EGT gauge and a low coolant alarm.
You look after her and she'll look after you.

EGT gauge will change your driving style once you see how hot the exhaust gas gets. She's only an alloy head so it's important to keep her EGT's down - preferably below 600 degrees (yes - degrees centigrade!)
If she goes much over that there's risk of the head warping and then you're into some serious $$$ to get her fixed up, it's not pretty.
Have fun working on her, they're relatively easy to work on so shouldn't be a problem apart from a few scraped knuckles and curses now and then :angel:
hey pete. just thought id let u know i got my defender register (for people who didn't see my earlier post i was 16 now 17 and own a defender as well) i am loving driving it off road but am having a hard time trying to keep up with my mates ss commodores on road. loving the capability of my car so far i haven't found a hill i cant get up. i got it stuck in a mud hole but thats what happens when u don't have enough momentum and you try go through the longest/hardest part and you have 35psi in your tiers still. i think i attached a photo or 2 of my ute hope u enjoy them.
