I've got a Stornoway Grey 90 and I live in the Pilbara. I honestly can't tell any temperature difference between the all white mine spec Prado (work vehicle) and my 90.

I actually think that the car is significant cooler with the roofrack on (Front Runner full length low profile). My theory is that it acts like a tropical roof by keeping airflow between the actual roof and the tightly spaced cross slats...

    Hey David,
I agree with Lou, I also live in the Pilbra and it doesn't seem to matter what colour your car is. although i can say I've had my windows tinted since being here and it has definatly made a difference to how effective the aircon is in cooling the car once its going.
Mine is a Galloway Green which i was unsure about to start with altough now i cant imagine owning any other colour.

not the best photo but gives a preview.
    cheers Lucas.

Sue would say just go to a reputable window tinter like solar tint or something..I would say all thought cant be sure that these would use a better tint than perhaps an unknown shop that says it also does window tinting..

in terms of packing your car..just be sensible about it..the plastic interior prevents a lot of big stuff hitting the windows as it sticks out a fair bit..but other than that if you are really having to pack to the hilt for camping and stuff just keep your soft stuff to the outside...or buy a roof rack and get your camping chairs etc on there...

you can damage the tint if you try hard enough...but seriously you have to try.

Tint made a difference to our 110, but adding a couple of kids into the mix has resulted in a bit if damage though.

Regardless, I would do it again for the thermal benefits. It all helps.

Nah i ment be careful of the seatbelt returning too quickly if you push the button whilst not holding the strap. Just first thats what happened too me. Nothing against the tint its great.

I got mine in white as that was all they had left in last years 2010 plate run out 'sale' (seems more like a permanent price change now). Wanted grey but really happy with it. White definitely shows scratches the least.

With A/C on coldest with the fan on one seems to be enough to keep me cool. I am in Melbourne but we get plenty of 35+ degree days.

    Rusnut,

I'm with you on the seatbelt thing. First time I undid it after driving off the forecourt it shot past me at the speed of white light and chipped the new tint at about shoulder level on the driver side window! Not a massive problem at all, just a bit of annoyance...

The 90's been loaded to the roof and the mastiff rides in the back on a daily basis (head out the sliding window behind the driver!) and the tint has survived all sofar.

Live in Mackay , have black 110. I don't did the car hotter than wife's white Mitsubishi, especially once I open the windows- I love the silver ones.

This decision is a luxury problem! Enjoy.
