    Indicator indication.

Has anyone found a simple cheap way to make it more likely that you will notice that the indicators have failed to cancel?

I thought maybe replace the light on the dash panel with a brighter LED that would be harder to ignore. I wondered if it might then be too bright at night.

Then I thought that a little buzzer like this one

Mini Piezo Buzzer 3-16V - Jaycar Electronics

might be audible over the noises that the Defender likes to make to reassure you that the engine is running, the transmission is connected and the wheels are turning. I wondered if the extra load might make it think that there was a trailer connected. Then I thought that might not matter anyway. It just means an extra flashing light on the dash doesn't it? Maybe the buzzer would drive the passengers and/or driver crazy?

Any cheap, simple, successful solutions out there?

Got one on one of the trucks great thing never drive along the road blinking.
You might have to change the blinker unit due the extra power draw though.

The specs for that buzzer say 15mA max current. Is that enough extra load to be an issue?

You could try it and see what happens. They aren't expensive.

... You might try mounting the buzzer inside the driver's seat somewhere... buzzing through one's bottom is hard to ignore !

Yes- I used two of those very same buzzers about 10 years ago on my series 3. In the end, i disconnected them, as the sound was too annoying. There's times when you may be waiting to turn when the indicators are on and you don't want them to beep.

15 mA vs 21W globe ?. One light globe flashing away will pull approx 21/12 Amps 1.75 Amps i.e. 15 mA vs 1750 mA, I doubt you would be able to tell that the load had been increased by a factor of 1/100th of a single flasher globe load.

No problems with that load, it should not present any problems to an old fashioned flasher can. The more modern things should be ok too.

My partner had the same problem.. and it drove me nuts as he was always forgetting to turn off his indicators..

Hearing aids have fixed that little issue.. although at $10,000 it wasn't exactly a cheap fix..

Why not just wait till the hazard switch fails... your indicators wont work and youll then give up indicating. Problem solved.

Whats the problem, if people dont know what you about to do they soon will see you doing it.

My Series has a piezo buzzer for the indicators, which aren't self cancelling. Just during testing and rewiring it drove me insane enough to have disconnected the buzzer.
If you do get an audible reminder, make it a pleasant sound.
