I bought a new 110 3 weeks ago to replace my wife's Volvo XC90 and was going to get a zippy car for my daily drive but loved her car so much that I went a bought a 90 this week. Must say I love driving it but my wife now wants it! :D

We were forced into her driving my 300Tdi 90 back in the UK when the GFC forced me to work further and further away from home. She worked 3 miles from home and I had to suck my pride and drive the Suzuki Swift Sport...
She very quickly worked out that in town Defenders own the road - no one pushes in front of you and if you join a slip junction at 80 km/h they always make space for you! She's only 5'2" and the 90's driving position allows you to "command" the road...
My other half refuses to drive my 90, she has never even tried. She loves riding in it with the roof off but no deal when it comes to getting behind the wheel. I think it is a combination of the loud motor, very long gear stick with reverse top left (need long arms or a good lean!) and, when i first got it, a 'vague' steering box (now replaced but you could turn the wheel 20deg before anything happended!)
The fact it has failed to get me home on a couple of occasions probably doesnt help either(aftermarket immobiliser and ECU playing up).
I have managed to get her to agree to drive it on the beach next time we are over at straddie, hopefully then she will realise it isnt as scary as she thinks!
Daughter bought a 90 2 weeks ago, so here's me pineing for one. Missus replies "I knew this would happen, and the answer is NO!"
Damn! methinks, how to change her mind. She who must be obeyed is happy driving the Calais, when I mention a 90 she brings up the past when we had a SIII - max speed 80KPH, east-west travels etc, nope she is happy ensconced in wrap around leather, V8, cruise-control etc.
I am sooking in the shed thinking about a possible 101 project vehicle. That'll teach her. :D

We have a 110 and the other half bought a new ninety as her company car. I asked her advice on your question and her response was "Just tell her it's a man magnet" :o. I think it also helps that she also has the option of driving her Renault megane sport cup that goes like a rocket :twisted:
Sadly I think I prefer driving the old tdi 110.

I have a company car but the 110 is the family car which she drives all the time and the 90 was her car in the uk. So see classes both if them as hers
