Dual battery under passenger seat?

I have both my batteries under the passenger seat in my County - hooked up to a 3 way marine selector switch that allows selection of either one on their own, or both together. It is not a bad idea to get the batteries out of the engine bay altogether for a whole variety of handy reasons ... frosty winters with temps down to -7 are a good one in my neck of the woods.

I have both my batteries in the rear of the 110, 710CCA cranker and a 100AH Fullriver. I just opened up the 'toolbox' in the LHR of the county with a cutting disc and made a strap clamp and ran some huge cables to the engine block, starter and alternator. both my front seats will now have storage bins, accessed from the sides.

I've been meaning to do this too, but Drivesafe has come up with an electronic battery isolator that can do this now.

Pretty trick.

I have my original cranker under the seat , but have fitted a 105AmH deep cycle in front of it. It all works but is a very tight fit.
I had this plate bent up to level the floor. The folded edge was 22mm and did a fine job.

Some useful info. I am about to attack my sons TD5 Defender to install aux. battery and electric brake controller and can use all the help I can get.
Recently installed same in my Disco 3 without problem.

OK I bought one of the dual battery brackets from TJM.

There's nothing REALLY wrong with it... well OK three is. It doesn't allow a large battery to be installed because the bracket inside the box with all the wires on it is in the way.

If the manufacturers (Piranha I think) had made it the mirror image of what they've done it would be fine.

It seems Piranha are pretty big on Exide batteries, so the bracket is made for them, and similar sizes. Trouble is if you want more than 70AmH in a deep cycle battery they don't fit.

This is how I have mine set up too. Also had the same set up in my previous Stage 1.
