    gv weight question {whats light ?}

    afternoon all..
    were heading off {2 up} in a 2002 110 and ive just ran it over a weigh bridge {2.4 t}...almost all packed with 90 ish l of fuel 4o l water tools camping gear etc { just clothing some spares cameras us and food to go}
    question is would you guys consider this packing lightly, considering its a 4 month trip???? as a past bushwalker its starting to sound heavy lol..

    we are resting bush walkers at present so I understand keeping it light or having two uses it possible.
    I put mine over the bridge with it expedition kit on the other day and bugger me we toped out at 3300kg ish, GVM is 3500.

    I don't think you will find many vehicles not close to GVM for a long trip. If your under than all good I think, it's when you 300 or 400 over start to worry.

    Not to worry you but that sounds light! Some peoples defenders are close to that empty(bull bar, winch ,lights , roof rack, bigger tyres/wheels, sliders, fridge, storage gear etc.) and as you still have about 500kg lee way put in those few extras to make life easier on the trip that you could /would not carry as a backpacker.

    nahh, I can prep for a month long trip and scale out at nearly 19T you're still travelling light...

    youve got plenty left for picking up souvenirs, roll on, make sure you've got good coms.

    You're kidding!! i WISH, WISH that more people would load as light as that.

    Enjoy your trip and laugh at those overloaded 200 Series cruisers as you pass them at the fuel station and the repair shop...

    set up at the moment is roughly..
    new springs and bilsteins
    5 new maxis's on idsco 1 rims {spare on swing away carier} plus one of rim
    tire plyers and repair gear ,air comp filling a rrc air supension tank plus tubes
    elec winch in xtreme bar with spots
    tool kit high lift jack, drag chain ,shovel,axe,tarps and rover jack
    comp with ozi mapping
    40 l waeco and 100 ah deep cycle stup using a redarc isolator
    codan with auo tune in front wing,uhf and hand held
    fluro lighting backe up with dual duel lantern
    full first aid{missus drove the whie bus's for a while}
    oztent v2 ith side panel,one swag and one folding camp bed
    130 l long range tank plus one jerry
    dual fuel stove{2 burner plus a stand alone one urner for quick stops} 5 litre jerry
    chairs and 4 storage containers {2 milk crtes and 2 larger for food and impliments}
    works out that theres little sitting up over window height and no bloody rack .
    plus bits and peices stufed all round but im shure ive forgotten things ,packing for a month is an easy job .....4 isnt as clear cut lol
