Just put GU front and rear diff housings under it and be done with it,if you want to run with larger than 35" tyres with any sort of reliability.
Or by the CJ8 and put 35's on it,and blow them up when you try and wheel hard,and then you can spend a fortune and buy all the fancy stuff in the jeep accessory catalogue.Unless you are making a comp truck,you don't need anything larger than 35's on a defender/110 and you certainly don't need great suspension/body lifts.

Well right now on 33s with little pumpkins im getting stuck because of the little tires. Dana 60 pumpkins are bigger so to get any increase in clearance I need bigger than 35s. Also from what I've learnt Dana 60s are stronger than patrol diffs. Do Salisbury have a weak point which Dana doesn't?
I'll keep an eye out for that project I reckon portals are an awesome idea.
I read through the ls1 110 build and that suspension and tire setup is pretty much what I want.
Well I paid a bit under that for mine (I played the exchange rate at the right time) and I have watched the development of these portals (Killer Axles/Tibus Engineering) for a couple of years now and I am very comfortable with what they have been put through on the vehicles they have been fitted on to date.Quote:

Marks have however engineering approval for their portals in all Australian States which will save a bit of money. I will be running 35" rubber which with portals and a 40mm lift should put the top of my headlight at 1190mm or just 10mm under the legal limit.
To my knowledge the Tibus Engineering portals are the only ones that come setup for CTIS off the shelf.
They also use a Mercedes G stud pattern which gives you a whole world of Hutchinson Military Beadlock Wheels to chose from if you so desire new wheels at the same time. Mine are from the pingauzer with a 63mm offset to increase the track to a legal yet more acceptable place for the portals.
Daniel (Mulgo) and Sam (Rangieland) are fitting the portals for me and Daniel has been in close contact with Wolfgang and I am currently booked into Daniels workshop when he finishes the TOYOTA :eek: (sorry Daniel I couldn't help myself :wasntme:) which is looking like being towards the end of May.
I will then do some testing before I leave for a 13,000km trip at the end of June so stay tuned as I will post progress as I go.
Thats gonna be an awesome rig. If I was running portals id only run 35s as well. With the added diff clearance itd be plenty high enough. I really cant afford them though
