wish I'd thought of that before I ordered my exbox.

Heres a pic of the Iveco Massif (Spain), which is essentially a modern Series3 (look at the door tops) They have a narrow console and moved the seats together.
They even have room for Door Pockets AND proper arm rests.

Yes, but I can seat three across my Defender. :p

In the days before seat belts, we used to regularly seat four across the seats of a Series II.

BTW, I have no problems with elbow room or the handbrake position in my Defender.

Yes.....a raincoat for wet weather........

The Td5 defender came with electric front windows......

If the position of the window winder is annoying you......it can easily
be changed to to any angle that suits you....


If you want to go off road.....buy a defender and "enjoy" it's niggles.....
If you want comforts and luxuries that are found in high spec cars.....then a late model disco
or range rover would be better.......


But the fenders will always be more fun.......
I guess you gotta have a good sense of humor to buy a fender......

Just drove 3,500 Km from VIC to WA in 4 days in a 2009 Defender 110. For the first hour or so the right shoulder & elbow room seemed constrained, but soon got used to it, driving position was quite comfortable except for the foot on the accelerator feeling it was bent too far up. Maybe that's just my longish legs, seat extension rails will probably sort that.
