What size tyres for 2012 130?

285-75-16 - in my opinion is the best size for a defender, not to big, not to wide, good overall size and pretty much brings the speedo to the right spot too!

255's are to narrow and wallow around a bit on the road but great off road, 265s are good but are a little small on a defender in my opinion, 235s handle similar to the 255s but not quite as wallowy on road, and 7.50x16s seem good off road but of the ones i have tried are not great on road or on sand. I have tried all these sizes and several others in many brands on Discos, 110s and my 130 and by far i like the 285 the most.

Best on 0 offset or neg 25(will definetly need flares extended) 16x8s - they look great too

And if you want to go crazy with it, you can fit some 37-38in tyres to a defender without to much mods

Slunnie has said the same thing re his Disco, and bear in mind I've never used 285/75's, only three sets of 255/85's but I've never had a problem with the tyres moving around and I punt pretty hard on road. (ex-race driver :angel:)

I also have no anti-roll bars and a fairly soft setup for 130, so that may make a difference too.

Hey Cal what Rims are you running with the neg 25 offset?

They are 16x8 Dynamics, i am actually chasing some -25 alloys, but havnt had any luck, but there is one company making 16x8 0 offset in a nice looking wheel now, i am also chasing 17x8 steel rims in -25 if anyone knows where i can find some.

Are you not happy with the steels or just want the alloy look?

I am fairly happy with them durability wise, i would prefer the alloys for looks but ive also had some issues with some steel wheels being out of spec off the shelf
