I've just bought a 1994 Tanami, and knew nothng of them before looking at this one. It has lost it's wonderfull colouring down the side (I thank whoever took those off), but is otherwise in very good condition! :)

I will be getting new decals done the cost is not cheap but seeing these vehicles are rare I think it is worth the investment.

Land rover Australia have some of these parts in stock, however they want way over the top for them so I simply put it to them, do they want to sell the stock at a reduced cost or leave them on the shelf for ever. Well they want to leave them on the shelf for ever.
I spoke to an English gent in traralgon who was driving one , reconed 30 of them.
Land Rover Australia claimed 100-150 as posted earlier.
Seems they may have been a dealer conversion i.e. send out the decals etc. and put together as required. LR figures may mean 150 kits sent out but possibly not all turned into Tanami's.
Let's stay with the idea of just 30 because it makes mine potentially worth more ;)

All the accessories/decals were fitted by Cartech prior to delivery to the dealer. There may have been the odd shortage which meant that the dealer might have fitted, say, the roofrack but otherwise they came to the dealer as a complete Tanami.
IIRC, the bonnet tools were sent to the dealer separate from the car & fitted at sale.
Out of interest, who are/were Cartech.
In an earlier thread the point was raised that some dealers fitted Disco steel wheels but Defender steels were the standard. So I guess if they came in as an assembled Tanami they were either modified further to suit the buyer or certain dealers would have changed the spec ?
