Nope sorry you can only see half of the back of it, was many years ago now before everyone carried a digital camera or phone. Out of interest I'll ask around and see if anyone has any but I don't like the chances

So as far as I can tell there are only three Tanami defenders on this forum anyone care to add their name to the list?

Maybe a Tanami modified to a ute by the first owner or maybe the first owner liked the Tanami decals and put them on a std ute ?

I only found out the Tanami was a limited edition after I got mine back in about '98. I saw a green one and a red one years ago but nothing since, except on this forum.

I met the guy you are talking about at the Ormiston swap meet a couple of weeks ago. He still has it.

Looking at the original land rover magazine the decals seem to be orange and looking at all the tanami photos I can find it seems to be brown. Could they have faded to be brown or is the vehicle in the magazine be a one off press car?

I have what once was a Tanami 110, though sadly nearly everything that made it a Tanami has been taken off at some stage, the only feature left is a little sticker of The Bush Tucker Mans hat on the back right panel between the brake and indicator lights.

It could be a combination of fading, lighting, camera settings etc. I wouldn't think they changed the decals for a press car.

There is a brown and a 'sand' colour in my decals (the side ones have been removed).

The signature & hat have been left on the sides. The colour is different to the decal on the rear.

But again camera settings, lighting etc. will change what it looks like in a photo.

Something stuck in the back of my mind about the decals so I had a look tonight.
As previously mentioned, the side decals have been removed on mine.
The signature and hat are the only things that remain on the side, thing is.......they're painted on and not decals ?!
The hat on the back is a decal.....

Were they all like this ? I've noticed on others that the hat on the side is separate from the main decal.

So the colour is different because one is a decal and the other is painted, decal has maybe faded and the paint hasn't.

Here is a picture (taken with a flash) of both.

    Tools on bonnet

The other thing is white was the only color i've seen so the green one must be a special request and would be as rare as rocking horse poo so may be worth something one day.
I assume that you cannot legally mount tools on a current defender ?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
