It looks like a continuum transfunctioner or turbo entabulator both of which are used with inverse reactive current for use in universal phase detractors that could also be capable of automatically synchronising cardinal grammeters that is produced by the modial interaction of magneto reluctance and capacity deractance. Or it could simply be a dinglehopper.

the TDI200 predates SMD technology.
DO NOT just rip it out until you've worked out what its hooked up to. disconnect the batteries, the alternator and the radio (anything else aftermarket thats sensitive) find which leads are dead short to earth then use a 5v signal injector on the other wires and start probing plugs for the signal. when you know what it plugs into what it does is easy to work out.
