There's plenty of different AT's so not sure which ones you're comparing against. Some are so road biased I reckon you'd be bogged on the first bit of wet grass you drove on - but I bet they're quiet on the highway :p
Seriously though, if the noise is hassling and you're doing a fair bit of driving on-road during the week it might be worthwhile looking at a second set of tyres in a less aggressive tread.
With a trolley jack it doesn't take long to change them over before you head away for a weekend etc and your KM2's will remain useful offroad for a lot longer.
Or turn up the stereo.....
