Vehicle looks really nice. It's also been there for a few weeks now so it may be worthwhile putting in a lowball offer before Christmas. Don't let the "Vehicle is still being prepared for sale" sign fool you. I guess they don't want to pay for the Safety Certificate until tehy've got a sale lined up.

Managed to sneak out for a daylight look - very, very tempting?!? :)

But can someone tell me why they have to spray black gunk under the wheel arches? What are they trying to hide? It's only a year old - surely it can't be that rusty already - can it? :(

My fear is that the sad demise of the last Defender started when I scraped some flaking black gunk off the chassis then I realized the black gunk WAS the chassis! Oopse! :o

From the factory there is no coating. When stones flick up from the tyres it sounds like a gun going off behind your head. I've thought about having that Rhino lining stuff sprayed under the wheel arches, particularly the aluminium panels, to see if that reduces it. Might not be a problem for many people but I have a long driveway with gravel on it and 10 minutes later will be driving on the freeway when a stone will break free from the tread and give me a heck of a fright.

If there isn't rust anywhere else on the chassis then the coating under the rear wheel-arches wouldn't phase me at all.
