There are basically only 2 issues with replacing one with another original shift:
- I suppose that eventually even a replacement original shift will crack up too(?).
- How expensive they are new.
Getting a secondhand one at least solves the latter issue.
Dazzler (thanks again, mate!) showed me that changing the whole stick really is a 5 min job. No tools. Just some grease needed.
Compare that to the effort to hack the stick and fit something else....
