Are you able to share those photos here? I've not had much luck on the TJM website searching for their Defender bars and would like to see 'em.

Being very unwise in the way of insurance, what does it mean to me if I fitted the Rovacraft bar and it is not ADR approved? If I hit a roo for instance does it mean insurance won't pay, even if the damage a less than it would be if the bar wasn't fitted? Or will they just not replace the bar?
Hi Guys,
I have posted the photos supplied by TJM office on the web site. I am very happy with the bar fitted a few weeks ago. Has good clearance from the body and the view from the front is straight, keeping a line close to the OEM bar fitted. It has two winch locations/options. I have not seen the new ARB bar, but based on the photo posted the bar is very close to the headlight panels. The TJM bar only weighs 50kgs which is small weight addition for the protection offered.
Cheers Brad
I just called Vicroads today and they basically said according to their Standards Information Bulletin, that any bull bar that is not ADR approved installed on a vehicle is deemed unroadworthy.
I think this ADR standard is a lot crap, we are very risk averse here in Australia and over governed unlike other countries.
I will go with the LR A-Frame winch bar and warn winch combo, it will serve my needs well.
I am not an expert on insurance, but you will find that almost all motor vehicle insurance policies require you to maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy condition. If you don't, you have broken the 'contract'. They would be entitled not to pay. Worse than hitting a roo is hitting an expensive BMW, Porsche, etc. If you kill or permanently disable a pedestrian you could be in be in even bigger strife. Remember, you would be knowingly driving an unroadworthy vehicle. The chance of being caught would go up with the seriousness of any 'accident'. All too big a risk for me!

Thanks all. I guess the Rovacraft is off the menu then, so I will now look at the TJM or ARB.
Hi all,
I'm getting the ARB winch bar fitted to my new 110 on the 9th of April. A Smittybuilt X20 winch with rope will accompany it. Will try and get some photos of it up as soon as it gets back from the shop.
Cheers,
Danial.
I've been looking at the terrafirma tube bars and also I think the basic winch bumper looks the part on the front of the defender, I really don't want to hide the front, it's too pretty to cover in steel. It looks too Toyota. In saying that I don't have to worry about roos all the time just the odd occasion and if that day comes, that's what full comprehensive insurance is for.
Guys,
Had a TJM steel bullbar installed on my My2012 D90 yesterday and it's great! Looks good and everything seems in order. Will post some pictures once I work out how to get pictures up on the AULRO forum. My beastie is black as is the bull bar so it all sort of fits together well, appearance wise. One thing I have noticed, is the when I use the blinkers, the little trailer picture on the dash also flashes along with the blinker light, whereas previously it only used to flash once on the first blink. All the blinkers are working correctly, so I am guessing that with the wiring up of the additional blinker lights on the bullbar, the wiring system thinks there is a trailer connected. Has anyone else experienced this? But I am really happy, can't wait to test the bar out now, will have to go out and find some pedestrians or a Hyundai!
cheers
