You looking to buy a brand new one? The Puma engine (Ford 2.2 Tdci engine) in the current ones goes like the clappers and it will easily tow its rated 3.5 ton.

The slightly older 2.4 ones are a touch rougher (very little though!), but very easy to have re-mapped and it will outrun, out tow and out work everything in its class. Throw in an aftermarket intercooler and it will amaze you.

As the guys mentioned, a 130 will not even know about 900kg on the back, so your camp load is quite a bit under the average touring 130!

Looks like you have taken my first bit of advice by joining the forum the new truck wont be far off now haha.
I put the new panel on Malcolm and just went out and bought some paint to match the rest up, my version on a new model!! just have to find somewhere to do the paint job which is harder than i expected!

I used to drive a naturally aspirated 3L Hilux for work in the NT. I was constantly amazed at how gutless that thing was. It was so bad that I would travel all around the NT with my foot flat on the floor (still not going every fast) and therefore using about 17L/100km. You will be amazed at what a loaded up 130 will do. Even a Tdi will be a revelation after owning the Hilux.

seems i may have misunderstood the original post too, if you meant the 3L engine it is 2.8 litres, the 5L engine is 3 litres.

doesn't really matter, both are still gutless though:D
