    Defender Auto Conversion Recommendation NSW

Looking to pickup a D90 and get it converted to automatic, and would appreciate any referrals to an experienced shop near Sydney.

I'll likely get a TD5, and am open to either an Ashcroft full conversion, or any other recommended methods.

Does anyone on here have experience/feedback on a conversion?

    thanks in advance

MR automotive in QLD have done the very same conversion, and IIRC Davis Performance in Annangrove have, too.

Land Rover modifications, Land Rover used parts, Land Rover spare parts suppliers for Brisbane, Queensland and Australia wide

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

KLR may do it as well, but I'm not sure of their new address or details.. (they have done good work for me in the past... and they are less expensive than DPL).

Your better of dealing with Ashcroft direct, you will save quite a bit of money!

You can source a TD5 Auto box from a disco and get the electrical control unit from Ashcroft.

I contacted MR regarding the conversion and apparently only business are "allowed" to buy the compushift.

Or you can just contact Compushift directly and they will sell it too

OK - sorry to revisit my old thread but I picked up a td5 so I've been making some calls around to get converted to Auto.

Long story short - there are the 3 options mentioned but noone seems like an expert
    1. td5 gearbox w/ compushift
    2. td5 gearbox wired to shift w/out compushift
    3. 300tdi gearbox w/ td5 bell housing, etc

Prices are all over the place as well - has anyone successfully done this? Also would like your feedback on which route you went, why, and how it has been working after some kms put on the clock?

    thanks again in advance.
