I don't get this common meme. Nearly all fuel tanks have the pickup at the lowest point of the fuel tank, where the heavy grot settles. How does low fuel alter this? At low fuel only stuff floating on the fuel surface would get into a pickup, and then only as you run dry.

I'd be looking at the security of the breather where air is sucked into the tank to replace the fuel used. Also not everything that looks like sand is actually natural sand. There's plenty of stuff that can break up into particles when supplied through a dodgy fuel suppliers delivery system.

generally Ill fill up when I am at Half a tank,
tank was near full (bit over 3/4's)

I know what has caused the issue, the sand getting sucked up yes, how it got in there is the mystery. . the volume that was in there is what is puzzling.

My family and myself have access to the keys, no one else, except the dealer when they have my car, fuel cap is always locked.

what sort of things? as like I said, I was near a full tank (done about 80kms maybe a little more since filling up)
its been too long now to go question the service station? (nearer to 2 weeks, as I do not use the car often [motorbike to work])

I think it is worth following up with the servo, if their system was dirty they might know about it by now and you may even have a claim I suppose.

I doubt it, he has no knocked her up, hes a drug addicted drop kick and we have been separated fro 2 years, despite her messaging and trying to call me all the time. . . it is a possibility but she left me for him. . . I never did anything to him :| a possibility though. .

the volume of the sand is unusual, an icecream cup!
I mention the other point, is because I had an experience ., while taking a car to test for rego I challagne the officer as he did not know how to read the chassis no: ( which is special for an old car) he thinks I have modified it. Then he pick on me on every point , thru the test and finally failed me on one loose nut ( I ask him if he can tighten it for me and he said no, it's my responsibility) So I havbe to reapply for the test and pay again naturally. Anyway just a wild guess.

yeah some mechanics can be real ******, my dealer has always been good to me, i wasn't happy with the first service from them, seems it must have been a bad day for them, have not had one issue since then and they always seem to deliver and some for me. I don't think they are trying to screw me over or anything (I hope not :|) as they seem genuine.

Im hopeful to get the car back at the end of the week with flushed lines tank and new filter.

anything i should have checked out myself by a cheaper/friend mechanic once I get it back to hope I don't have issues from this further down the track?
