When I ordered my Disco 4 it took 6 months.
But well worth the wait for the car you want.
If I bought another car from the dealer I would be a lot more careful about documenting dates and times and who I spoke to. As you start to get servicing done its a good habit.
I had issues with paint on my brand new Disco 4 that took three repairs to fix.
In all seriousness my father has a Hyundai and he gets better service than I got at a land rover dealer on A $90k car.
At Hyundai they don't f$& around and just replace whole parts no questions...
But in saying that I love Land rovers and would definitely buy another one. Just would be more careful about documenting stuff.

I've heard that about Hyundai....No mucking about.."Just Fix It"....a friend of mine has a Hyundai SUV....had an intermittant problem with the cruise....Hyundai couldn't replicate it......so they simply replaced the main cruise control control module.....problem fixed.
Cheers, Pickles.

This from the dealer after I chased it up. I'm glad I did. I was planning to sell of the hilux in prep for the 90s arrival in September.
"They cut Aus. Defender 90 production by 80% in July and August, (5 units total) this is the reason it has slotted in September. You are right there is little we can do. I only got official confirmation just under 2 weeks ago."
Might have been nice if they told me. This is how they treat me before they have my money....

I'm beginning to think I would have been better off with one of those perenties from the auction.... I'm yet to hear of a good outcome from anyone who has dealt with a dealer.

I think you just have to stay on top of them and not rely on them ever being too pro active.
And don't expect the service you think you deserve because it never happened through my experiences.
And don't ever feel bad if you have a problem and have to harass them a bit to make things happen.

It might be worth checking other dealers in Aus to see if any have that vehicle in stock. You might get lucky and find that one of them has it in stock and is willing to beat the price you got from your local dealer.
Just remember though - once you have your vehicle the sales side of things will be forgotten and you won't care. What is much much more important is to find a dealer with a good service department. I've worked through every dealer on this side of Melbourne and had significantly bad experiences with 2 of them. Luckily the service department on the third and last one I tried has been truly outstanding so far.
Unfortunately you can't link the quality of the sales team to the service team, they are often unrelated and driving to different targets. The best sales team I worked with - had an awful service department manager.

eh ?
been told by "my dealer" mine is on a boat ,but he cant say when its gonna get here, seems a bit odd that Landrover dont seem to know where there cars are going and when they'll get there....
-
I just came to an understanding with the dealer on one in a different colour..... should have it in two weeks. ;-)

I bought mine through Southern Landrover here in Perth and I'm very happy with the service they've provided so far, they've been really good, follow up phone calls to see how the landies going etc.....at least when you do finally get it I know you'll love it, they're great!
