To Me, as one "expecting" a LandRover, this is all very interesting...I shall be "Ghosting" my Dealer as a consequence, for accurate production/ updated build/shipping details.
Cheers, Pickles.
I'd be pushing for more info about that.
A mate of mine has an evoque coming and has been tracking it since it left the mother land. They have got the ships name, dates into Aus and when it will be delivered. Mind you this is their second one, the first was meant to have black seats with red stitching, they got to the dealer who unveiled it in the showroom only to find the entire seats and door panel infills were red, not just the stitching.........WTF............somebody made a typo on the order. Needless to say the red seated one is now sitting on the dealers lot.
They also had the details and tracked the first one.

Southern Landrover have a number of new ones in stock at the moment on the floor. Some nice accessories on a couple of them as well.
Its not even straight forward when you buy one off the showroom floor!
I feel sorry for you guys having to wait. Mine was as simple as seeing it in the dealers yard, taking it for a spin, saying i want it and then collecting it 3 days later. Once you have it though you will forget about all the annoyance of waiting and the smile won't come off your face!
Yeah... its just frustrating when you dont know when they are being straight with you. I would just prefer them to come clean and not feel like I am being worked.
start with the seet rails .then bulbar and better lighting....add on what you need as you need it. they realy dont need a lot to be a great car out of the box.
when you cant go where you want to then add on.
{good tires even if standard size....not shure whats on the new 90's}

That's a load of nonsense about not knowing where it is or how long it will take to arrive...
Back in 2010 when I ordered my car I had a very proactive young sales lady who actually placed the order on the day I signed the papers and got me a firm "build commencement date" before I left the show room. I got weekly updates on my built, completion, transport to the shipping yard, ship's progress, arrival in Australia and a firm delivery date 10 days later.
It sounds like its just another case of people wanting to earn their sales commission without any actual sales customer service...
Ok place your bets.
Im supposed to pick it up next friday!
Will something go wrong between now and then? Will the bullbar not turn up? Or the winch? Or the snorkel? Will the guy who is supposed to have the key be off crook? Will the apprentice who took it home last night forget how to wind the clock back to hide it?
All these questions and more will be answered in a week and a day....
I must be getting jaded. I just always assume things will screw up....
