Land rover provide you with the bones, once you have it there are no rules. Take the roof off and have it re-painted pink if you like, it'll probably cost you less than some of their factory options.
Customer service, hmmm.
If I was sitting on the other side of the desk if you wanted an Evoque, pink with orange mirrors, beige roof and green wheels I'd probably say "you're well suited to an Evoque" as I filled out the order form.
I was actually fired from work on Thursday for;
Taking too long serving a customer.
Not getting them to pay up front (I didn't even have an order).
Not following sales procedure (sit them down, ignore what they want, get payment, never follow up on order).
I also have a sickness or disease apparently that's preventing me from doing my job (operations manager) which includes purchasing, sales, receiving, picking and packing orders, deliveries, etc, etc, etc...
They cannot legally fire you for that (unless it's in a written contract and even then it's shady and hard to do).. I'm sorry to hear about your job loss, sounds like that particular dealership is not big on customer service.. thank god they aren't all like that!
*hugs*
Good news.
I wrote to the M.D. of Land Rover (Aus), & whilst I haven't had a personal response from him as yet, I have heard from the Customer Relations Dept, who have advised me that they have organized for our "90" to be built in the U.K. with an Indus roof...as a (in their words) "one off".
Whilst we were not losing any sleep over a Fuji roof, we do feel that the Indus will look pretty smart with the Keswick....we feel it will fit in with the alloy wheels, & other stuff on the car.
I'll put up some pics when it arrives....you guys can then make your own judgement....only 3 months to go?
Cheers, Pickles.
Ours is going to have. Black roof.
Good result on getting yours sorted.
Good work Pickles. Glad you got the color you wanted. It will be a rare one of a kind.
Don't cross your fingers on getting it in 3 months if it hasn't been made yet though.
Keswick with black....I think that would look good too.
"3 months"?.....Well, when we ordered it was two months ago, so another three to go (five in total),.....scheduled build date is 3/9...hopefully all is "on schedule".
It's funny though, we've had a few other cars that have had special options on them, so have had to be "built", so accordingly with some "delay", but none of them has entailed such "anticipation" & impatience, as this vehicle.
Cheers, Pickles.
Well done Pickels2 - great to hear they decided to do the right thing.
I'm surprised (shows how utterly naive I can be) that the dealer didn't simply say "As this isn't a standard factory finish, I will get back to you with a quote" and then call the local spray shop to get it done post delivery.
Well yes, they could've done that, and in fact, our dealer ULR, actually said they could do that, but that was not satisfactory for us, because the build documentation from Solihull would not have shown an Indus roof.
I wanted it to be,"from factory", and show on the build papers as such, which will now be the case.
Cheers, Pickles.
As I noticed, on a "News" item on this Forum, initial strike action has just started at Jaguar Land-Rover's 3 U.K. sites.
As our "90" was scheduled to be built during the second week of September, this could not have come at a worse time, as I feel that if the issues are not quickly resolved, then our delivery wait will be longer than the 5 months we're already going to be waiting.
Not good, Pickles.
