I have a contact who gets the magazines that have been sent back from the newsagents, i.e. the latest edition comes in and any old ones on the shelf get sent back.
Cost a dollar each so I get all the LR mags that come up.
I think I got the Defender mag about 5/6 months ago.
I got a copy of the Classic Land Rover and it was OK but I didn't enjoy it as much as some of the others. Also disappointing to see articles about extensive rebuilds followed by an advert for the same vehicle.
Mind you some of the established LR mags have regular rebuild articles by britpart !
Is it me or are some of the newer magazines written by journalists that don't have a great deal of knowledge about the product. There's a classic bike mag where in the Q&A section the guy gets all the answers from a forum. There are a few others where the 'staff car' section has the all work done by different 'professionals'.
It's all becoming adverts and advertorials........

AULRO.com of course !
No need to buy a LR magazine....
Also many people are unaware we used to do our own 'newsletter/mag' here on AULRO. People (new people especially) should have a look at them - some good reads, and insight into how this place has developed over the years....
See Files - AULRO magazine (from the top menu bar), or try this link....

:D
Other good reads can be had in the "Members Rides" and "Projects and Tutorials" sections here on AULRO.
Hi Pickles, many thanks for alerting me to the Defender magazine which I bought at my local newsagent this morning. Although no technical articles, I will still read it from cover to cover and probably enjoy every page.
Peter.
I wonder if my Lroi mags are worth anything I have about 3 milk crates full
