D1 OEM steel rims on defender 130

    Hi everyone,
from what I have read it seems that I could fit d1 steel rims (16"x7") on my 300tdi defender 130. Just checking if this would be a problem before I commit to buying them. My defender currently has ANR5592 wheels (tubed) and I want to move to tubeless for the sake of convenience.
    Any thoughts or objections?

The stud patterns are the same so they will fit, the issue is that they are not rated to take as much weight as the 130 rims. I do believe that this may be an issue if you load the 130 to its max GVM, but I am sure you will get some other comments from people who have a better understanding.

Thanks for your reply Richard, I will have to think about whether I need the extra weight!

You may want to do a bit of a search, I know the Alloy rims have this weight issue, and am pretty sure that the steel rims are the same as the 130 did have different rims to the 110 which are heavy duty.

i have the problem is that I have acquired a set of 130 rims for my 2010 110 and the extra support in the rims fouls on the rear brakes.

Seems odd, I wasn't aware of any difference in the brakes between 110 and 130. Let me know if you decide to get rid of the 130 rims, I may be interested, although would have to check freight.

I think its more the fact that they are off an early 130 and I am trying to fit them to a Puma. I did have a thread on it about a month ago.

from what I can find it appears even the steel d1 rims are weaker than the defender 130 rims but I am not 100% sure.

That's what I have been led to believe, but I was hoping that someone more knowledgeable might be able to confirm this for you.

    Interesting

Land Rover did fit HD rims to the 110, but there the older style that used to be fitted to the 130. According to my UK friends LR have now stopped fitting the HD older style rim and only fit the light standard steel rim.

As for the HD 130 rim fitting a 110, I would have thought it would, I have seen TD5 110's with a 130/Wolf rims fitted, these may have had a different spring/shocker set up however...
