That's pure porn :D
Great colour too.
Firstly: welcome to probably the most interesting and quirky (nee eccentric) 4wds you could own. We of course can only compliment you on your decision. :D
Secondly: I have been a Traxide fan for quite a few years and the product for the Defender is very good. Tim doesn't rest on his products' laurels and as a result the latest is always the best.
In addition to the Traxide controller my auxiliary set up consists of the standard LR battery coupled with an Exide Orbital deep cycle/starting battery all located under the passenger seat. Given the shape of the base of the battery compartment in the "Puma" Defender I opted for a Piranha battery tray which is designed for this battery selection. The installation of this is not for the faint hearted! Many curses were involved.
Ultimately regardless of the battery controller decisions, battery capacity and outlet location will play an important part in the process. I've just bought a 120w solar panel to make sure I can spend more than 2 days in one spot and keep the beer cold.
Finally: The Defender's "architecture" enables its owner to design many different ways to achieve an outcome. That for me makes my decision to own one vindicated.
Ok it arrives tomorrow morning .....!Yes
I have a dual battery system in my discovery 3 can I extract and re install
