    Engine cut Td5

    Hi all,
A question for you tech savvy Td5 kind.
What is it that actually cuts the engine when you turn off the ignition?
As there is no fuel cut off solinoid is the power cut off to the injectors via the ECU.
So if this is the case, could i add a solinoid and switch to cut the power lead to the ECU so that I could disable the car remotely. And would this caurse any problems to the ECU say if it was done while the engine was running?

    Thanks all

    Nino

The unit injectors will spill all fuel to the return line unless the spill solenoids are closed by the ecm which then causes the fuel to exit via the nozzles.

It would soon stop without fuel, as people have discovered when the pump fails. Interrupting the fuel pump relay coil would be easy enough to do.

    Td5 Fuel cut off.

I want a method that will cut the engine immediately as if I had turned off the ignition but I dont want to just cut the wires and add a relay at the back of the ignition barrel. I the car is stolen I figure that they will almost certainly break the column shroud and break the steering lock, possibly by passing my "anti theft" device!
    Hope this makes sense.

    Actually it won't stop.
I drove Melb to Bairnsdale with a non working in tank pump. Pulled the fuse.

sounds like you want to wire up the Relay that comes with a Xexun TK103 ,

couple of places you can wire it, Crank sensor or Inertia switch on firewall, either place will stop it instantly, Inertia switch is easier & wont introduce error codes.

you can immobilise the car via SMS

    Disable via SMS

    Goingbush,
Have you fitted or have any knowledge of the GPS disable device? Does it work with a MAC computer? And lastly do you just buy a SIM card and pay as you go or do you need to go on a plan?
    Thanks

I suspect Google should be your friend. I googled the model number provided last night and learned a lot.
