The best way to break the news to her is to bring it around here and park it for a long time, and that way give yourself leeway to break the news, that way,I am sure that Mark and I could put some more miles on it and a few scratches, and you could just tell her you bought an old 130:D
Wayne's idea is probably the best and safest, but just in case you want another option, you can park your 110 here for a very long time and tell the missus you made a straight swap to some sentimental old bloke, your 110 for his 130.
Not that either of us have a use for your 110, but the driver's side panels are straighter than those on my County...
Neither of you have an honest face or good intention in your heart. I'd come round to collect the 110 to find a sad sight of a stripped down mere shadow of her former self. As for leaving the 130 with Wayne, isn't a 130 TD5 and 110 200Tdi enough proof of a defender fettish?
Not sure if i 'win' from either scenario proposed.

Oh I only want to park it in front of my neighbour, who has a go at me about all the unsightly cars I have already...
Hi Mark
Good pick up. I like that colour of defender, it has a bit of heritage about it. Now I know why you are after dimensions for the tray. You would be welcome to drop over at any time to take measurements if you wanted to replicate my tray. The other option is that my brother just bought a 120 with an aluminium tray. He intends to replace it as he carries steel as part of his engineering business and the ali would collapse under the weight. You may be able to make him an offer and shorten the tray to suit.
Ice has been broken, the conversation went:
Me: "How much do you love me?"
Wife: "Lots and lots and lots."
Me: "What do you think about this?" As I show a photo of the truck on my iPhone.
Wife: "Why green? Oh it has white bits."
Me: "It's Keswick Green my dear, that's the colour I would have bought had i bought new."
Long and short, The 130 has approval (subject to colour complaint) but the 110 is not a keeper. I think the statement was "you have one arse and two defenders, you can only keep one." I said I'd need several months to swap stuff across and work out what i want to do with the D130. That was greeted with a huff but not an outright denial of permission.
The project has roots and is sprouting a sprig of hope.
