Thread: Passenger handles Defender 90

Well that worked, thanks ! I;d tried open in a new tab with no luck..... computers eh...

Just checking the average speeds distance traveled etc on the new I pad gps Hema explorer thingy. Something a bit wrong I feel my top speed recorded was 161.9 kph . I pushed it to get passed a road train but surely not this hard. Glad I put that chain on my mud flap or it would have melted at that speed. Average speed moving between Perth and Narabri is 84.9 kph not to shabby .

I picked these genuine Landrover handles up a while back on Ebay and finally got around to fitting them. The one on the A pillar (Windscreen) uses the same screw holes that hold the trim on however I enlarged the holes slightly and fitted a bigger self tapper. After a good peak under the trim to see what was there to attach to I mounted the next handle centrally in the door opening. I drilled first and used 2 screws around 50 mill long to attaché this one. Make sure the rubber door seal is in the correct position or you will to loosen it all off to get it back on. It was pretty easy to do so I dont know why the don't fit them from new.

Thanks Mike...bloody good idea, I picked up a new Defender yesterday and find it difficult to get into it as they are taller than the Army 110's...the 5 Door defenders have a spare set of grab handles behind the passender rear doors that are not used, as they are for the 7 seater version, I might as well use them the same way you have.
