Clutch slave?
Hey I've just discovered something interesting! (maybe or not) I bought a master and slave a while ago, for a trip I was going on , anyway cutting a long story short I was sold a 200Tdi Slave instead of a 300Tdi Slave, which I have installed and still can't get the Clutch to engage a gear with engine running, (See thread Flatbed but lucky) Would a 200slave installed on a 300tdi make a difference??
Anybody know for sure?
Cheers ted

difference in the slave cylinders
I had a little look in the parts book and it appears that the 200 TDi slave cylinder has a slight difference in the position of the face of the mounting flange compared with the 300 TDi slave cylinder.
You will need a spacer for the 200 TDi slave cylinder, the part number is FRC 2402, it fits between the flywheel housing and the flanges of the slave cylinder and I think it is about 4 mm thick.
There is also a change in the push rod part numbers, part number FTC3912 to gearbox number 56A 0669086K, part number FTC5199 from gearbox number 56A 0669087K, I don't have easy access to the two different types, so I can't determine if there is any difference in their length.

No it didn't have the 4mm spacer just the flange/backing plate the came off the old one I'd taken off! This is interesting. The part number of the unit I've put on is FTC2498G.
Also I thought the 200tdi's hade a different gear box?
