Thanks for that, we are heading down to Perth so might be a bit late in the day, I may just see if tubes are available as a temporary fix and change the rims out later when I get settled.

My concern was on road blow outs, off road I have never had any issues at all, my 130 has climbed its way all through the pilbara without anything stopping it yet.
It's an awesome old tractor, I was just concerned that this blow out was a direct result of running tubeless tyres on tubed rims!

Definitely not.

I rolled a tyre clean off the rim with a sudden and catastrophic deflation @ 100km/h through a corner when running tubes.
Once you lose all the air the tube can't keep the tyre on the bead, and with 130 rims the beads are so damned wide I've never rolled one off in probably nine years of running tubeless on standard 130 rims.

Would I prefer a safety bead/rim?

Yes, and currently run 7" rims with a safety bead, but do not have an issue running tube type 130 rims tubeless.
I doubt very, very few would ever run a 130 as hard and fast as I have, and generally taring around the 3000kg mark.

Lots of people spread this crap around without any evidence to back it up. Some early D1 rims reportedly had balance issues, but that aside, the material thickness is thicker than most 130 rims and at least as thick as the later type (tubeless) ones with the holes drilled in them. I have a tubeless 130 rim in the shed (as well as the 2 sets of D1 rims already mentioned).

I have abused my D1 rims for years offroad and not damaged one. I am sure I have had my 110 loaded to the GVM of a 130 a few times... :angel:

Sounds like experience says it doesn't really matter when they go they go!
So a set of disco rims although tubeless appear to have the same performance in an explosive tyre situation anyway?

Well... The 130 rims I had were made of thicker metal than the Disco1 rims I've come across. Wolf rims are thicker still.

Given that this is what can happen to a 130 rim on a fully laden 110, without the driver even noticing. :o

WOLF rims are ANR4583, the same as the late type (tubeless) 130 rims.

I just measured mine up:
7 mm thick centre
3.5 mm thick outer

D1 rim for comparison:
8 mm thick centre
3 mm thick outer

I don't have a standard/early type 130 rim to measure but I recall they have a 3 mm outer and a 3 or 4 mm centre???
