From memory the gearbox breather goes into the bellhousing, so you'll have to drop the gearbox to mod it.

See link below, this is where I bought my Raids from. Current price is $1580. From memory there wasn't a lot of haggle room on the price and they had to order them in. Make sure you get the right sort, there are two kits, one for normal height and one for +2 inch (rear shocks are slightly different).

Another place I've heard good things about and who sell Raids is Top Performance. Would be worth talking to them and getting a price I suspect. These will be the guys to get advice from. They may for example suggest you'd be better of with just the Heavy Tracks. Dunno, but if you aren't doing a lot of off-road touring the Raids might be overkill.

Well i've been doing more reading as we do & dam it my list is growing so rather than just adding to my little Wish List due to frenzy of wanting to spend more $ than i've got i think i should ask you guys that have done it already & know what's a gimmick & whats needed, What do you consider a must "add on" to a Defender 90. if i keep going with ideas i'll be adding crap i don't really need
i intend to Travel, go off road but no extreme stuff & of course water i luv water crossings :D

Hello All you Defender Owners, i'm putting up my wish list in the hope for any advice you may wish to give a new Defender Owner I'll go from front to back sorta.
A Front Bar something much stronger than the paper thin one they come with, I'm not really a Big Bull Bar type of guy just not sure what's out there on offer or who to buy from.
Having taken one for a test drive on Thursday the car did feel very soft & a little spongy when breaking so on the wish list is Koni Raid90's up on the front only i'm thinking the back should be fine i travel light anyway. So what do you think & who's the best to buy from to save on $
Rock/Tree Sliders (1) for Side Impact Protection (2) from Grots who slam doors up against other cars with no care (3) for what the are designed for protect from Rock & Tree rubbing up agains the 4B, Again Who's the best to buy from to save on $ OR have someone make em for me i'm guessing chassis mounted is the best option.
Snorkel, this one is easy the Metal Snorkel (Thanks debruiser)
Nugget Air Box Kit, this one is easy (Thanks again debruiser)
Cruse Control, again not sure what's out there on offer or Who's the best to buy from to save on $
Intermittent Rain Wipers, from memory reading threads hear. Buy it from a VW Wreckers, Model No: not sure guess i'll need to read em all again.
Floor Matts, any one type that offers better Lips on the sides to holds dirt mud sand ect.. i guess.
Diff Gearbox Clutch & what ever other Breathers are required to help protect when wading through water, am i better off buying this individually or going out & buying it in Kit form & again Who's the best to buy from to save on $
Tow Bar, this one is easy a RA0063 from Mr Automotive (Thanks Leroy_Riding)
What's this all going on a my14 Land Rover Defender 90 yet to be collected once they are finished making it, just for me
So any advanced advice will be appreciated & i promise to put up Pics once i've collected it & put my "wish list" on it. Regards Rick.
I had a Rovacraft bar on my County, and Mulgo rock sliders. I reckon if you are going to use the rock sliders for what they are, then the bar isn't going to protect enough (though approach angle is fantastic). I have both front corners dented for proof.
I have since move up to a full steel ARB style bar, and despite the slight loss of approach angle, am much happier, even in the harder four wheel driving I sometimes do. Next step scrub rails between bar and sliders.
Mulgo rock sliders are a very durable bit of kit and bolt to the chassis outriggers, mine take a hammering, plenty of paint missing from sliding along things but they are surviving well otherwise.
I don't have a 90 myself, but I've worked on customer's 90's.
As far as 'must haves' go, if you intend to do some serious travelling you might want to consider extra fuel tank/s as the standard 90 tank is rather small, and a bull bar for frontal protection (as well as a good spot for mounting lights, UHF antenna)
If you like water, fit a snorkel and make sure it's sealed properly......another member on here can help you with that.....Puma sealed air intake kit for Safari Snorkel Also make sure your diff and gearbox breathers are set up properly.
Cheers, Murray
Ordered a TowBar from MR Automotive (yet to be collected), Thought i'd spash out & get Personalised NumberPlates, I'd show them but don't really want them splashed all over the net, a NUGGET AirBoxKit link to his Site with images here for the Kits http://www.nuggetstuff.comQuote:
