Cracka,
Thanks for that post!
Momo boss, part no. HUB K5613 - Is that for 48 or 36 spline?
Who from Defender 2 made the centre logo?
Have you hooked up the horn up to it?
Thinking of doing the same......

No worries Tomo.
When I did it all I spoke to Paul Roman (Roman Autotek) who are the importers for all things Momo, I think they started in the 80's from memory. You can order from them over the phone as their website doesn't list the boss. Their Ph. 03-93304443.
That is the 48 spline. The box has description HUB K5613, the receipt has HUB 5613 D, but if you order it from them (the safest way I found) he will know exactly as he was going to update his records after I fitted mine. You will need to grind a few mm off the rim of the shroud which sits under the boss for clearance, if you've taken your wheel off you will know what I mean, its an easy job.
Also with this boss the indicator cancelling does work, apparently some bosses it does not.
The horn button I got from 'Killer' (Chris) send him a PM if your'e a member or this is his website CSK Landrovers
Edit. I just checked his website he still sells them, 15 pounds.
No I didn't hook up the button I don't think you can, I find it just as easy to use the fitted horn on the stalk. I actually used a bit of silicone on it and glued it to the back of the dress ring as the SAAS wheel dress ring hole is slightly smaller than a Momo.

OK, hopefully what you're after is attached. One photo shows the instrument view, and with the other I tried to show/simulate the "drivers view". I think it gives the clear bonnet nose view you're after, with me in my car. Obviously, can't be sure the same would be true for you (i.e. we might have different heights & driving positions).
Mine came off by some simple but determined rocking of the wheel (along the axis of the column, up-and-down on the opposite sides), with hands in the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. I'm advised the wheel can come off suddenly, so it's a good idea to keep the nut on a turn or so, to avoid having "Land Rover" written backwards on your forehead. :)
However, guessing you've tried that? :(
You could buy or borrow a steering wheel puller.
Or as I have done with my vehicles over the past 34 years of car ownership the following.
Just undo the nut enough so its loose and the steering shaft is still sticking slightly above it. Then hit it with a hammer, you don't need to belt it but make sure you hit it square so you don't burr over the edge of the shaft, repeat as necessary and it will come off.
Preferably have someone putting upward pressure on the wheel at the same time, if you haven't a helper knees at the bottom and your free hand at the top :D

This is the steering wheel... just ah, ignore everything that was going around it
Awesome, nice wheel and the price is fantastic. It also looks like 350mm is what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the detailed photos, appreciated.
Where can I by the SAAS wheel from and the mono Boss?
Didn't SAAS. Have a boss to suit?
And is it real leather?
I want one :)

G'day Babs, your Q's answered .....
I bought mine from here SAAS Star Wheel - Auto Parts & Tools Shop you can also get it in titanium spokes as you will see. This mob were the cheapest $120 with $15 delivery when I bought.
The Momo boss get it direct from Roman Autotek Melbourne, order by phone 03-93304443 that was the best way when I did it as their website doesn't list the boss kits. They were extremely good to deal with. The boss was $109.09 plus $9.09 delivery. See my other post above for the part No.
No, SAAS don't do a boss for the Defender, not many manufacturers do.
Yes it is real leather.
The Landrover centre has to come from the U.K, here CSK Landrovers 15 pounds plus delivery, I can't remember exactly but at the time it was about $30 delivered but it certainly brings it all together.
I did quite a bit of research on wheels/bosses before I bought and a lot of comments were that some brought the wheel closer to the driver than the standard wheel and made it a bit uncomfortable in the drivers seat, but as my photo shows this wheel/boss combination only brought it forward 12mm, which I find is a very nice position together with the smaller size.
I just thought, not telling you what to do, but don't forget to count your splines before you order the boss, the part No I posted is for the 48 spline.
