Resurrecting an old thread rather than starting a new one.

I need to add a few comments about my experience with Cooper St Maxx tyres.

I bought six when they first came out, first one failed at around 30000k and two more since....last one today, about 40000k. All three have split near the sidewall and tread and the three still on Rover will fail the same way. When the first one failed I replaced it with a new Cooper, but that will be the last. I can't complain about wear, grip or tread chipping/cutting, but I am very peeed off with the failures. At current Pilbara prices these three are $1320.00.

I think I will refit my split rims with 14ply MRF rags. At $120.00 each who cares if they fail and I have not had a single flat when off track either....just need ear plugs when I get up to around 80kph.
