What makes you think more cubes is more reliable than higher boost? You might be right if we were talking about changing the block and having an entirely different motor. Bigger bore means a thinner cylinder wall. Longer stroke means more off centre crank.

No price, but here is a link to DPL for a stroker kit, for a 300tdi, so something may be in the works for the TD5.

The 300Tdi kit is just the HS2.8 bottom end.
I'd be concerned about wall thickness as the 2.8 bore is quite a bit larger than the Tdi.
They use std pistons on the td5, bore thickness is not and issue. I know they had to grind the block a little.
