Hey guys and maybe girls I just purchased a 2004 td5 110 defender and getting ready to play as by looks of thing its never been used for it in the past... so doesnt have any real recovery points the back is fine as have removable tounge hitch so that fine...
what I want to know is with the front its got what looks like an oem winch comp bull bar with no winch the problem is I wouldnt mind having some decent snach recovery points and can't see any where to bolt after market hooks or if there is something on the market for the defenders.
Ive searched google and best I could find is some shackle thing that hangs from an 8mm bolt but to me it looks weak for a car that weighs 3 tonne what has everyone else fitted? Links and pics always welcome
P.S have tried searching but on my phone so some reason wont let me.
Cheers Brian

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Hi Brian, most aftermarket bars have points built in to suit shackles. I have arb winch bar and it has two places under the winch in which I can connect two d shackles and run a equalising strap to share the load, alternatively some aftermarket steering guards have recovery points incorporated in the brackets which mount to the chassis to hold the steering guard, hope this of some help cheers Matt
Another vote for the APT steering guard with integrated recovery points.

Cheers guys ill have to sus out if the apt steering guard will suit not sure if the recovery eye will clear the bar will have to sus out in the morning coz they look good and decent price compared to others I've seen.
Doc130 I was looking today on the pit at work and couldn't see anything thought there would have been as my bar looks like a gen land rover bar coz it has land rover stamps in it. The recovery things I was thinking of are the jate rings but they just look weak.
cheers Brian
