Mine is on its annual holidays to get the intercooler hose - the first section out of the turbo - replaced in Canberra. (for the 2nd time so will be installing silicone as soon as out of warranty)
I must give it to Landrover Australia for agreeing to both deliver and return the vehicle to the dealer and back home again for free, Normally you as the owner if you break down within 100kms of home only get the pick up done, the delivery is your problem.
Well Im 270kms or so from the nearest dealer and pointed out that its a bit silly to pay all this money on a simple repair but they insisted and offered the free floatings.
This is the second time Ive had this service so Im pretty happy, oh, apart from now having to drive my 1986 Isuzu FSR11 around for the next few days.

Don't worry, it's not just our Landies it happens to. I've been driving a new triton for the last couple of months doing a job for a 'mate' 3 days a week. On 2 occasions, 1 week apart the hose between the intercooler and turbo blew off (turbo end) 18000 kms on it at the time.

Both times I reattached after cleaning the oil off the surfaces, luckily the clamp was on the subframe and not on the road somewhere. I then finished the day's work and drove the 100kms to the dealer to get the light cleared.

They replaced the hose and clamp and it's been right since.

I had mine at the dealer earlier this week getting the turbo hose recall done.
Turns out that there is a (presumably factory fitted) metal pipe in place where the recall parts were to go.
So according to LR, the already fitted pipe is a much better solution to the option they were going to install, so I was sent on my way with a box full of free 'recall' parts in the boot. Works for me. I'll fit the parts, or cross that path if I ever come to it.

Ive got to say that a got great service again by Macarthur Land Rover.

Not only LR's,a mate had the turbo hose blow off has new Ranger twice.The third time he had a good look himself and it appears it had been fitted the wrong way around from new.The mechanics were forcing it on every time,not realising it was on the wrong way around.

So once again,if you don't do it yourself,it probably won't get done properly,or at all.

Is this an indictment on the new generation of tradies, or did the same **** happen a generation ago?

Had the side of the turbo hose blow out on my diesel XTrail when it only had 20,000km on the clock.

Not an LR thing mate.

Technically inept, tradies have been around forever. Its more apparent now because, in this case, motor vehicles are more complex and require specific methods and materials for servicing and repair. The techs need to be highly skilled
Another factor is, any tech with good skills, can command more pay working in the resources industries. With respect, there are many good operators who choose to work in the automotive industry, but from my experience there are many that are totally incompetent
