The Racor looks good, can I ask why 10 & not 2 micron, because you are just getting the worst out?

Anyone got one with a priming option ? And does it prime the whole line or just to the pump?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Does anybody know if the D2 water sensor WKW 500070 will fit the puma filter directly? This would certainly provide a cheaper option...

The D2 sensor fits/screws into the filter element replacing the plug that usually comes with an element.
Odds are that if your element has a drain, you can fit the D2 sensor.
You would have to check this out.
You would then have to run wires from a + ign on source to the sensor then back to a buzzer or light then to earth.
    Should be easy/peasy.

Yes 10 micron as I understand it to get water out and 2nd filter (lr) is 3 micron . Had to get special ferrules made for the fuel lines as the 2.4 puma has no fuel pump as such and you cannot have a air leak Anywhere

At the dealers, they pressurise the tank with an airline. This primes it straight up.

How, something low tech like an air nozzle & rag jammed in the fuel filler? I could manage that.

Diesel Care have just released a fuel filter and bracket kit for the Puma 2.4 / 2.2 motor. The part number is DCS029 though it's currently not listed on their online store.

The kit is a Fuel Manager secondary filter (2 micron) that is fitted just aft of the fuel cooler. I've just had my kit arrive today so will hopefully fit in the next couple of days.

I went for the kit as it has all the bits a pieces needed, and for somebody with my level of mechanical aptitude I need all the help I can get

Peter at Diesel Care was very helpful in answering my questions and was good enough to email me the installation instructions prior to me deciding on buying the kit. I tried but I can't seem to attach them here, they are a pdf.

As this filter assembly has the hand primer option one question Peter confirmed was that it can prime the factory filter.

Cost is $340 with shipping to WA of $24.

I'll update after I've installed the kit.

    Regards
    Dirk...

I should correct my earlier posts. I thought i had a Fuel Manager. In fact i have a Parker Racor unit. The kit is a complete replacement of the factory filter. With primer pump, which is a breeze when changing the filter. And yes it primes the entire system.

The R60 is the correct flow rate for the Puma defender. The R40 spec flow rate is a smidgen below the Puma flow rate but enough to warrant the step up. The TD5 has a lower flow rate than the Puma and you might be able to use the R40, check the specs. The "S" is a 2 micron filter. You can get 30, 10 and 2 micron. It is a large filter and as I mentioned in my earlier post if the bleed nipple is incorrectly located it contacts with the radius arm.

You source them through truck suppliers. In Sydney the distributor is Western Filters out Smithfield way.

I note that the photo shows the drain to look exactly the same as the drain on a D2 filter element so if that is the case it would be easy to fit a D2 alarm ,
