    When my daughter comes home with, and worried about the disadvantages of owning, a pet unicorn, I will become all of a sudden very concerned about my defender not leaking.....

    Must have them in my Defender - it fills with dust.

    Something similar happens with my MY14 110, but only on the rear passenger side......

    You don't so much have to slam the door as you do have to follow through.

    Most other vehicles have a pair of those rubber flap vents in the rear door jamb, or out through the side of the boot to allow for the compression of air to be released when the door is closed and when all the windows are shut. If you open only one back window a couple of inches, stand with your face in front of it while you shut the door in front of it, (all the other windows and doors shut at the time) you'll quickly understand how much air needs to escape to allow the door to close. Even with all the factory gaps in mine, and a few from wear and tear, it's easier to close the last door if there's a window open. I've considered putting a couple of those vents in the back of my twin cab for that very reason. A project for the future. Finding the right type of vent that will work in a vertical panel would be the first hurdle.
