Mine is the ARB CKMA12.
I used to use cheaper ones (various brands) to keep cost down but they kept packing up. Decided it would be cheaper in the long run to get a dust proof, heat proof, water proof one and never looked back. No issues, compact and neat, and reliable as hell. Highly recommend. Especially as I previously mounted in the engine bay of 4.0 V8 Disco II that gets EXTREMELY hot under the bonnet.

It wasn't so much $$$'s to burn, but reliability and build quality.
I too had a Bushranger comp once, managed 7 tyres and spat the dummy. They didn't want to know about warranty, they reckoned I must have been "over using it"!

My portable model is an old ARB one that I have had since the mid 90's. It does the job.

Other than underneath the seats has anyone come up with a good mounting point for a compressor?

Bugger. Mine ahs been going for years no real worries - except the hose spat itself off the connector recently so I need to get that sorted. Just to make life annoying I think it uses some sort of non-standard connector.

Mind if I ask what sort of price the ARB CKMA12 set you back?

Why not swap out for something that is easily purchased? Not hard to solder in a new connector in a common style (as long as it can handle the 25A current that it may draw)

I thought we were talking air hoses...? :confused:

ARB sells both brands and they pretty much force you to buy the matching hose for the brand as the connectors are specific to the compressor. Void warranty if you tamper with those.

If we are talking power cables then just hard wire it or use an Anderson plug as per the thread topic?
