That's good to know.

I was basing my expectation on the way the 90 dropped at the back when we put the camper on the back at Christmas and it wasn't even fully loaded. I know the 110 suspension is heavier duty so I'm going to wait until we've done our first trip to Shark Bay after Easter.

The 90's suspension in the back is a lot softer in comparison, hence the off road capability.The 110 will be significantly better is standard form.

I need a bit more in the 90's rears, but I'm reluctant to go aftermarket and HD's will be grim the rest of the time.

I'm thinking air bag helpers in the back (inside the coils), but need to work out what they will be like unloaded or on minimum pressure.

I've got both tanks and front runner drawer, I put Dobinson 300kg progressive rate springs in the rear, standard heigh. It works very well not too harsh when empty and sits quite level with camper attached and full load.

Lucky choice for once got it right first time.

Those tanks both work well, water tank filler hole is a tough one to get right first time. I nearly ran out of cover plate cutting the hole .

I think I missed out a word. Between the 2 fuel tanks.

Seriously consider some sort of air bag helper like Polyair, Air Bag Man etc then when loaded all you need to do is put a bit of air in and take out when lighter. If you are going to do mods like dawers etc and leave your 90 loaded like I do with hand winch, recovery gear, tools, fridge etc then consider getting some higher rated springs - Kings are fairly cheap if you get from Coventry's.

I have two sill fuel tanks under the front connected via hoses that run between the chassis rail and the body at the front of the rear wheel arches. Presuming you could do something similar with the wheel arch tanks (if I'm reading your query correctly) then the hoses should have pretty good protection.

The tanks are definitely more exposed to damage under the sills (I feel vulnerable to side strikes but so far nothing bad has happened). The lower front edge of the passenger sill tank is also a bit vulnerable, but once again no damage yet (and I've got plenty of scrapes all along the underbody). However having all this weight centrally mounted makes up for it (particularly in a 90 which basically has no rear end anyway).

That is probably the one weakness of the Front Runner 45 litre guard tanks, the small diameter hose between the main and the aux tank ifs fairly exposed, though I have not had any issues so far.

Here's a piccie, it goes out the tank, through the sway bar bracket into the main tank, mine has a bit of conduit for protection, but it would be easy to hang a small protection off the sway bar brackets
