I doubt its the bushes too... but anyway you'd use rubber grease (usually red stuff)
Thanks Lou - bonnet has been off several times and i usually squirt a little lanolin (lanox or something?) on the pins to feed its habit
Cheers

Lanolin spray is also safe to use on rubber / plastics, but not a great smell for interior use.
Cant think of anything that dust isnt going to stick to though, at least with the use of silicone sray, the dust is easily removed.

Be wary using Lanolin on rubber. It can be used as a vee belt grip!
I once used some on a O ring seal on a torch that twisted to turn on. The plastic snapped before the O ring slipped the next week.
Well, my spraying did do something - it stopped the squeak!
Maybe this means one of the bushes is damaged - certainly all bolts are tight as this was the first thing I checked.
I will follow it up when time permits but I do want to try & isolate the bush concerned, so when the squeak re-emerges, I will spray each one in turn & hopefully will be a able to find it.
Cheers,
Lionel
Shock bushes aren't vulcanized so it's just dry rubber.
You can buy new shock bushes from Super Pro :)
It certainly does.Quote:

So get your big screwdriver and try to lever the bush sideways and not any movement of the bush against the centre tube as that is where they fail.

If a shock bush is tightened properly and not worn out then it won't squeak either. Possibly he may have elongated holes in his axle or tower ( usually axle) and that may cause the steel dish to squeak, but again it will be caused by wear and the root cause should be fixedQuote:
which I have finally traced to suspension/shocker bushes.
.
BUT he did say suspension /shock bushes.
BTW , unless the poly bush is soft then I have found them to give unacceptable harshness.
