Very nice. Now to fit some accessories. Recommend you start with extended seat runners and extended rear side door openers from Mulgo - really worth the small cost and easy to fit yourself.

Thanks guys,
I thought 10km a liter consumption would save me money, but it is not going to save me anything if I keep making excuses to go and drive it
Now driving does not hurt anymore (my back) actually driving is a lot more fun, or maybe it is just the Defender thing

Congratulations Chris , I'm pleased for you . I think Keswick Green is one of the best choices in the colour range . I'm sure you will put your own stamp on It soon , work out how your going to deal with nose . Plus any bolt on bits . The thing is you now have you 110 . So good on you ! I get mine Keswick Green 110 at the end of the month !!.. Jim![]()
AWESOME, I like your choice of colours!![]()
Sorry to hear about the accident up there.... Ravenshoe is such a nice little town....
It looks great Chris and it seems you're pretty happy with your purchase. Enjoy!

Thanks guys, I am very happy with it, part of me wishes I had bought one years ago, but then I would not have this new one now
I am thinking of getting a factory bull bar at the first service unless you guys think there is a better option?
Anyone know how much the side steps are? The inlaws will have big problems getting in without them. Hmm now is that a bad thing or a good thing..
I need a draw set up for the back, not sure if I should buy something or build something, I am really good with wood, but I would rather something light, maybe aluminium.
Another bonus of getting the Land Rover is finding this great friendly forum such place are rare.
Cheers
Chris
Hi Chris...and congratulations. Welcome to the family.
Bullbars
Some go for LR, some go for ARB. I went for the Opposite Lock one but there'd be a thread on this site for who uses what, the pros and cons etc.
here's a couple of threads to get you started.

Underbody noise protection
Yeah the stone chips can sound like a gun being shot inside the cabin.
I found that when I built my drawers, it reduced the problem a hundredfold...but I still want to get some bitumen based paint to do the exterior underside. There's a few solutions out there. Some use the spray, some use paint-on. I think most agree that bitumen-based solutions are the go.
Side steps
I had the LR ones but kept bending them and denting them so whipped them off and went to see Daniel at Mulgo. His rock sliders are awesome and look good too. If they're a bit exxy for you, he might know of someone with second hand ones....Daniel is awesome like that.
Drawer system
SO many options. Do some searching and have a look at some of the fantastic ideas people have come up with on this site. Check the Members Rides section as well as Projects and Tutorials. Best best is to go to Advanced Search and plug in 'Drawer', search for titles only and include the '90/110/130/Defender/County', 'Members Rides' and 'Projects and Tutorials' sections as the search criteria.
You will have HOURS of fun searching through all the wonderful photos and designs.
I made Monty's drawer system out of ply and it was massively over-engineered but very sturdy indeed. I used a design from Povman but gave it my own finishing with marine carpet and aluminium edging. If you're going for lightweight, you won't be the first so keep searching.
Other mods you might consider initially to make life easy on yourself:
- Cargo barrier
- Mulgo Rear door extension thingies
- Mulgo seat extensions (I only have these for passenger seat)
- Mulgo Ex Box (moves the electrics in and up and makes for a MUCH more comfy driving position IMHO)
- Mulgo Rear door gas strut
I know it looks like a Mulgo promo but the man really has thought of everything.
Enjoy, Chris. Love the look of your truck mate.
Shoot me a PM if you want to chat through any of the mods I've done on Monty (there's a lot!); I'm happy to talk you through the decision-making process and the research previously done to save you some time.
Don't forget to wave

Just keep waving at them Cafe you'll wear them down eventually, I had a tough nut to crack down here but he waves now. 👍 congratulation and enjoy defender ownership.
By the way it's really good to hear that your back is feeling good - I was worried too, having broken mine a few years ago and occasionally driving cars that hurt.
Longest day in Monty has been 12 hours. I was almost completely deaf at the end of it, but my back was fine![]()
