and no, you dont need a DC/DC unit, if you were tihnking about it then you need to think more along the lines of a traxide and a moderate battery charger or sinking the change into your solar setup. you'll get more value from that.
Purely regarding battery size... the largest battery I could find that would fit under the seat alongside the factory battery was a SSB HVT70ZZLD.
I don't have a photo of my current setup, but here's a photo of my old setup with the same battery (my new set up is a little bit tidier):

The above battery lasted me 5 years, eventually dying after my car had been left unstarted for 3 or 4 months (long story) where both batteries ran down completely and had to be replaced. Ouch! I replaced it with the same make & model battery.
Looks like your wiring could do with a tidy-up :angel:
