The annual corrosion inspection needs to be carried out by a LR dealer. If you have the car serviced by them, it's free.
If you don't have the car serviced there, they may charge you for the inspection.

This was a big topic in the UK about 10 years ago!
The upshot of it all was as long as you took your vehicle into any VAT (GST) registered garage (i.e.: their turnover was greater than ?50K GBP) then the manufacturer had to honour any warranty claims.
This was a good compromise... it avoided the often uncaring and shoddy workmanship at main dealers (just like my local LR dealer), but also avoided the 'back street' dodgy garages who untrained or inexperienced mechanics.
I am thinking if JLR accept this in the UK, they would be on a sticky wicket if they did not accept the same philosophy here!
I have just picked up my new Defender 90 and the dealer told me that LR no longer "do" log books and so if you want an official record of your servicing and maintenance then you need to get that done by an authorised service agant who has access to the LR computer system....
That would be me ;)
Having a Service Manager / Advisor in your corner is the single most valuable asset you can have with a vehicle...
Get the Interval services done by the Dealer, and if you wish to intermediate service, use a local...
If you have an issue - you'll really want the relationship with your dealer to be more than just "fix this"
