While I had my 110 for back clash "diagnosis", my dealer also replaced the oil pump.
On the subject of back clash they found the axle splines worn and replaced together with flanges. Back clash eliminated for now.

    Letters from JLR

Received a letter today advising the Q421 Oil Pump replacement program. At least they are sending them out, even though I had mine done over a month ago.

Also got my letter today and I didn't think I was in the range as mine is DA not LD, so maybe only the numbers matter?

    Q421 letter arrived

Received my letter and booked in for the work next week. Good timing as we're off in a couple of weeks and this will give me peace-of-mind as well as saving me doing an oil change. My BAS2 RRC kit should also arrive next week and I'm looking forward to running the 150BHP Autobiography Remap.

Decided to go the extra miles and get the recall work done in Albany.
The job went without any problems and they provided a loan car (freelander) to do some sightseeing.

Their coffee machine wasn't as flash as the Perth dealers, but by contrast, Albany did get the job done right the first time.

The letter was in the letter box when we returned home last night

Had my 40 Thou service done and the oil pump work at the same time yesterday. All good ... but didn't have any problems I was aware of anyway.

Did they waive the cost of the oil for the service?

Hmmm. No they didn't. At least I assume the item "MAG PROFF (A5) 5W/30 $112.13" is the engine oil, as the diff oil and brake fluid is shown separately.

    ripped off

    Hi,
as the recall DOES include new oil and new filter and as you got your service done at the same time they ripped you off by charging for oil and filter-- you can check by looking at the LR sheet issue dot dealers re the recall--suggest you ask for a refund as oil is expensive. My dealer did not charge me for th eoil and filter when done like yours.
