You might be right Pat and that is the way it should be is done. I have not found that to be the case from my experience unfortunately. I like knowing about my vehicles and if I do the work I know it has been done. If they don't do this then how would you know unless you do it yourself?Quote:

While we're talking OCD, has anyone found a good paintwork protection product? We used to get our survey planes coated in a two-stage polish on, polish off product that used to last years in the desert. I've been searching for something similar for the Land Rovers but can't find anything semi-permanent at all. Is there a really good one out there that I haven't found yet?Quote:

Now up to 750km on the speedo and I am really enjoying this 110. I am doing really well with the gears now - working out the best times to change up and down. The motor is quite nice in that 2k - 3.5k rpm range and moves along quite ok.
It rarely complains now with the gear changes - I am finding it really fun to drive around in. Especially on the roads out here that are a little bit hilly to allow me to vary the gear changes and travel 60-80kph.
Next thing to learn is car parks - I like it when I have three spots spare so I can aim for the middle one and not worry if I miss it - I also needed to learn about the mirrors and those objects looking closer than what they really are - I often find I can go back another ft or two.
Best thing today was that the wife said that she is really liking the truck and how it travels :cool: ...
That's really good to hear. I might be wrong and others on here would be able to correct me but, I think you can replace the mirror glass with normal mirrors. Maybe Britpart or someone similar.

It doesn't take long to master parking, that is after you have realized/accepted that nearly every time it's best to "aim off" and make it a two step deal.
By that I mean don't try to get a "hole in one". Aim to hit the car beside the empty spot about 1/4 head on. Reverse half a length opposite lock, and then drive into the spot.
Oh - and look out for low overhead environments. I measured my stock dual cab with stock tyres to be 2045mm from level ground to highest point in the roof. So 2.1m car parks should be ok. Yours may be different.
