    Mantec spare carrier squeak

    Hey guys,

My Mantec spare wheel carrier has a mean squeak when opening/closing.

I've read that lubricating the piston and the bolt in the lower mount usually sorts it out.

Wondering if anyone has sorted theirs out and has a few tips to share.

    Cheers,

    Tom

Yes, Put something on the white plastic piston, and the noise disappears. I use white marine grease, but probably graphite or silicone spray also may be OK.

I would recommend graphite powder as it's a dry lube and doesn't attract dust.

    Thanks for the tips guys.

Disassembled the carrier, and it turned out to be the bolt in the bottom mount that was making all the noise.

Gave everything a good clean and a dose of dry lube for the enclosed parts, and graphite powder on the piston.

All sorted for now! Took about 30 mins at a leisurely pace.

    Cheers
