Looking forward to the Mahindra review also, I was sooo close to getting one myself. As for the fabled smell, none of the ones I test drove (new or used ) had it.
Rich.
My missus loves them so one will be coming soon, the one she was looking at has a small scrape with a very minor dent, I hate dents so I want to talk to the dealer in the morning, but if push comes to shove she can just get a new one and it will be in the next days whatever way we go new or used. She is not long home and she said the driving position is amazing so like a Defender, only the gears are easier no slop to contend with (I have not tried it yerther opinion). She tried the Jeep Wrangler after and she said (her words) it was dingy after the light open of the Mahindra, I am happy it is way cheaper!!
When it arrives it will get a good test on the farm as we have some very challenging tracks especially at the back where they are washed out.
It is not going to have the clearance of the Defender, but it is still not bad and it can be raised, and it has got diff lock too. The suspension is apparently hard for heavy loads, but the missus did not notice any issues on the road, but for my use it might be a bonus for carrying farm stuff. If wont be ideal for off road (stiff suspension), but those who want a softer suspension can get after market. Depreciation might be an issues, but not if you dont change your car often. How much is depreciation a problem, when you are paying so little anyway..
My only grumble is the paddles on the steering wheel fade and the plastic they are made of is rubbish otherwise apart it not being exactly a sexy design to look at it is hard to fault.
I will post again soon when she gets it and I try properly.
Chris
Ok 27,000km 22k or new 31 what would you do?
The used one is good but clearly used, not mint.
Thanks
Chris
I would save $9k and put it towards the $30k defender thats had the works done to it.
youll lose the 9k on a new mahindra within a year anyway.
Cheers
Dan
