I installed Dynamat in my 2010 110 a couple of weeks ago; it's pricey but the difference is pretty huge. Much quieter & most importantly much cooler. Had to pull the front seats out and the cubby box & mats to do it but it was worth it.
Interested in getting rid of the cat conv tho....
Using 6th gear is producing higher EGTs(exhaust gas temps).
Look into exhaust wrap its great stuff.

I just wrapped the middle section of my exhaust from the firewall to the middle muffler here, using about ten metres of the narrow Magma Wrap (I already had some 30 mm stuff). You'd obviously use a bit less if you had wider wrap (it also comes in 50 mm). In the future I will wrap the rear section under the load area for more heat reduction.
What are the downsides of wrapped exhaust. Does the heat build up cause any damage or is it a null issue?
There appears to be some risk if you wrap the headers of high performance vehicles, not really applicable to us.
And possibly rust if you Park up with wet wrap, unlikely in Australia
I fully wrapped my exhaust mostly to guard against spinifex getting around the very hot exhaust where it crosses from right to left. It happened on one trip and I think it was only seconds away from combustion until I sprayed it with a bit of water.
It has made a difference in the cab as well.

Follow the air intake back from the LH mud guard to where it enters the heater box.
It is not a good fit, there is a floppy rubber spongy gasket around the joint and mine was hanging in side the vent and drooping out the bottom.
By releasing one bolt holding the intake in place, I was able to get enough wiggle room to reposition the gasket to better serve its intended purpose i.e. funnelling cool outside air through the hot engine bay and into the ventilation circuit.
I now have outside cool air venting in the cab, not pre heated engine bay air.
What a difference.
Prior to this I had checked the heater tap. I was sure that was the culprit as I could not imagine such a misfit would be possible in such simple air ventilation components.
